As I mentioned in the previous post, I travelled out of the city hustle to Batu Pahat, Johor. It is a small town whereby having three (or two??) big shopping malls is considered a luxury. Nothing appeals much in either tourism or shopping, nevertheless it has some really spectacular delights that make you want to come back just for it!

Han Kee’s egg and ham/ otak-otak sandwich is what I am talking about! The simple cheese sandwich comes slightly toasted with a juicy slice of otak-otak (local fish fillet) or ham alternatively and egg with some tomato sauce. Costs merely RM 3, you get the flavorful burst of deliciousness in your mouth more than expected.

Han Kee is where confectionary, bakery and coffeshop all come under one roof. From cakes to pastries, to nasi lemak and puddings, they offer just about everything to satisfy either a quick bite or a simple, good meal. They even take orders for special occasions.

The Nasi Lemak and Fried Noodles are sold all day long, yet they taste very fresh. Especially the chili sambal with the Nasi Lemak is the best!

Another thing I must mention is the Kopi O in which the aroma and sweetness give a taste of exquisite tradition as well as a pleasant experience.

Save the address in your GPS and drop by the next time you find yourself cruising along the North-South highway.
